About the Curator
Exploring the intersection of data, cognition, and knowledge curation
Clara Holst
Cognitive Science Student & Data Curator
I am a dedicated Cognitive Science student at Aarhus University with a strong interest in data science, machine learning, and technological solutions. My academic journey focuses on understanding how people think and interact, and how this knowledge can be applied to create technological solutions that meet user needs.
Through my studies and professional experiences, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of data curation processes, from collection and categorization to visualization and archiving. This exhibition represents my semester-long exploration of how we transform raw information into meaningful knowledge.
My background in teaching, from supporting students with special needs to mentoring gifted youth, has shaped my approach to knowledge dissemination. I believe in making complex data concepts accessible and engaging, which directly informs my curatorial practice.

Curatorial Approach
This exhibition represents my journey through the "Curating Data" course at Aarhus University. As curator, I have engaged with the process of transforming raw data and experiences into meaningful knowledge structures.
My approach combines:
- Critical engagement with theory: Drawing from course readings to frame my curatorial decisions
- Reflective practice: Examining how my own learning unfolded throughout the semester
- User-centered design: Creating exhibitions that are both intellectually rigorous and accessible
- Interdisciplinary perspective: Bridging cognitive science, data analysis, and digital humanities
Through this exhibition, I aim to demonstrate how curatorial practice can make sense of complex information ecosystems and create pathways for others to engage with knowledge meaningfully.
